About This Webinar
Men face a unique and evolving set of challenges involving work, relationships, identity, expectations, purpose, and an increasingly uncertain future. Yet many men continue to struggle quietly, unsure of what they are experiencing, where to turn, or even how to begin talking about it.
Introduction to Men’s Mental Health, presented by Bryan Do, LMFT of Volare Counseling, offers an accessible look at the current state of men’s mental health in the United States and the challenges affecting men today. The webinar will examine the state of men’s mental health, depression and anxiety, major factors contributing to mental health concerns, protective factors that can strengthen well-being, effective strategies for navigating these challenges, and ways men can begin moving forward with greater awareness, resilience, purpose, and direction.
This introductory webinar is designed to begin a larger conversation about men’s mental health—not simply what is going wrong, but what men can actively do about it. Rather than viewing mental health solely through the lens of symptoms and diagnoses, the discussion will also explore the importance of relationships, identity, meaning, personal agency, and having something worth working toward.
Future webinars will take a deeper look at subjects affecting the lives and psychological well-being of modern men, including the sexual marketplace, finding purpose and meaning, relationships and identity, and the philosophy of “Always Be Competing”—the idea that competition can help fuel our sense of purpose and help us to become more resilient men.
Life presents men with challenges. The question is how we prepare ourselves to meet them.
